*** Use unsweetened cocoa powder in this recipe. In a bowl, stir boiling water into cocoa powder. Sift flour, baking soda and salt in another bowl. Beat in flour mixture with cocoa mixture. In large mixing bowl, cream butter with sugar. Beat in eggs and vanilla till light and fluffy. Add cocoa / flour mixture and beat till batter is smooth. Pour into 2 prepared (greased and floured) cake pans. Bake in a 350F oven for 25-30 minutes or till cake tester comes out clean. Frost with any kind of frosting.
