Punch Bowl Cake 1

1 box yellow cake mix
2 small boxes instant vanilla pudding
1 large can crushed pineapple (drained)
1 can strawberry or cherry pie filling
One 12-ounce container Cool Whip
1/4 cup chopped nuts or
1/2 cup sliced fresh strawberries for garnish

Utensils: Trifle bowl or punch bowl

Prepare cake in sheet pan according to directions on box. Cool. Prepare pudding according to directions on box. Break cake into pieces and layer one-half of it in the bottom of punch bowl, layer one-half of the other ingredients in order listed above. Then, starting with cake, make a second layer using all ingredients. Top with nuts or strawberries. Refrigerate overnight.
