Put Jell-O package and crushed pineapple in pot. Bring to a boil until thick. Cool mixture. Stir in 2 cups buttermilk. Fold in 1 carton Cool whip. Place in a 12 inch by 8 inch dish. Chill in refrigerator until firm. Cut in squares and serve.
