French Pudding

1/2 loaf French bread
6 whole eggs
2/3 cup sugar
4 cups evaporated milk
1/8 lb butter, melted
1 tablespoon vanilla extract
1/3 cup raisins

Preheat oven to 350F. Combine eggs, sugar and milk in baking dish. Mix well. Add melted butter, vanilla and raisins. Stir so ingredients are equally distributed.

Cut French bread into small squares. Dunk in mixture with crust on top. The bread wil1 rise back to the top of the dish. Place in oven and bake 30 to 35 minutes, until firm and brown on top. Serve as dessert.
