Anisette

2 lb sugar
4 large glasses of water
1 large glass of whiskey
16 drops anise oil
22 drops of orange water
Few drops red food coloring

Put sugar and water in pot on a slow fire until sugar is dissolved. Let cool, then add whiskey and flavorings and coloring. Let age.

Yield: 2 quarts
