Homemade Soup 1

8 or 10 pieces soup meat
2 large cans of V-8 (about 2 or 3 quarts)
5 med turnips (peeled and diced)
5 medium potatoes (peeled and diced)
1-1/2 packs of fresh carrots (sliced)
2 cans sweet peas
2 cans corn
2 cans snap beans
1 head cabbage
2 or 3 quarts water
Seasoned salt, hot sauce (optional)

In a large pot, add the water and the meat and salt and let boil on high fire for about 1/2 hour. Then add the two cans of V-8 and let cook for 15 minutes. Now add everything except the sweet peas and let cook for a little over an hour. When the potatoes and carrots are tender or getting close, add the peas.

Note:
You can customize the soup as you like. Add more or less water. Add more of one kind of vegetable and leave some out.
