Grillades

1 beef round steak, 1/2 inch thick
2 tbs shortening
1-1/2 tbs flour
1 large onion, sliced
One No. 2 can of Tomatoes
1/4 tsp pepper
1 green pepper, minced
1 tsp Chopped parsley
1 clove minced garlic
1 cup hot water
1-1/2 tsp salt

Cut beef into serving pieces. Brown meat in shortening, remove and set aside. Brown the flour in same shortening, add onion and cook until soft. Add remaining ingredients and place back in the pan. Simmer for 1-1/2 to 2 hours or until meat is tender

This is delicious served over grits, regular or quick type grits may be used. And, it is cooked according to directions on the package.

Serves 4 people.
