Stuffed Pepper 1

6 med green peppers
1 lb ground beef
1/3 cup chopped onion
1/2 tsp salt
Dash of pepper
1/2 cup water
1 lb can tomatoes
1/2 cup uncooked long grain rice
1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
4 oz Sharp process American cheese, shredded (1 cup)

Cut off tops of peppers. Remove seeds and membrane. Pre--cook peppers in boiling water about five minutes. Drain. Sprinkle inside of peppers generously with salt.

Cook meat, drain. Add onions and cook until tender. Season with salt and pepper add tomatoes, water, uncooked rice, and Worcestershire sauce. Cover and simmer until rice is tender, about 15 minutes.

Add cheese. Stuff peppers, stand upright in baking dish in 350F oven for 20-25 minutes.

Serves six.
