Hot Water Cornbread

1-1/2 cups self-rising white corn meal
Salt and pepper to taste
Boiling water
Oil for frying

In a large bowl, combine white corn meal with salt and pepper. Add boiling water until dough forms that is soft but will still form into a ball. The water being extremely hot is very important. Dip your hands into ice water before forming dough into a ball so you will not burn yourself. Once you form a ball, drop into very hot oil and fry until golden brown.
