Sweet Wheat Bread

1 pkg. quick-rise yeast
2 cup warm water (110F - 115F)
1/4 cup honey
1/4 cup margarine or butter, softened
1 tsp. salt
1 cup whole wheat flour
3/4 cup wheat germ
3-1/2 to 4 cup all-purpose flour

Grease two 8 x 4 inch loaf pans. Dissolve yeast in 1/2 cup warm water. In large mixer bowl, combine remaining 1-1/2 cups water, honey, margarine and salt. Stir in dissolved yeast, whole wheat flour and wheat germ. Add 2 cups all-purpose flour; beat at medium speed of electric mixer until smooth. Stir in enough remaining flour to make stiff batter. Shape into loaves; place into prepared pans. Cover with moist towel; let rise in warm place about 1 hour. Uncover; let rise 30 minutes or until dough is just above the top edge of pan. Heat oven to 350F. Bake 35 to 40 minutes or until dark golden brown. Remove from pan; cool at least 1 hour before slicing.

Makes 2 loaves or 32 slices.
