Strawberry Float Cake

1 box yellow cake mix
2 pints fresh strawberries
1 cup sugar
1 tall can Evaporated Milk
One 8-ounce container Cool Whip

Preheat oven to 350F. Make cake according to package directions. Bake in 3 layers. Cool completely on racks. In blender, mix strawberries, sugar and evaporated milk in deep container (Trifle bowl or cake carrier). Put one cake layer, pour strawberry mixture over until almost covered. Put second layer on, and pour more strawberry mixture. Then add third layer and pour the remaining mixture until all is used. Cover top with Cool Whip.

Serves 16-20.
