Sunflower Seed Cookies

1 cup butter, softened
3/4 cup shortening
1 tablespoon water
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
13 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
1 cup sunflower seeds, roasted

Preheat oven to 350F. Cream butter, shortening and sugar. Add water and vanilla. Mix well. Combine flour, baking soda, baking powder and salt. Add to creamed mixture. Mix well. Shape into 1-inch balls. Place 2 inches apart on greased baking sheet. Flatten with a glass dipped in sugar. Bake for 11-13 minutes or until lightly browned. Remove to a wire rack to cool.

Yield: about 10 dozen.
