Fresh Fig Pie

5 cups peeled figs
6 tbs sugar
1 tbs cornstarch
Juice of 1 lemon
6 tbs butter
10-inch lattice top pastry

Arrange bottom pastry crust in pie plate. Select figs that are ripe and firm. Place figs in un-baked 10-inch pastry shell. Sprinkle with combined cornstarch and sugar. Add lemon juice; dot with butter. Form lattice top with strips of pastry. Bake in a 425F oven for 30 to 40 minutes or until browned.
