Red Beans and Rice 2

1 lb dried red beans
1 ham hock
1 lb ground beef
1 large onion, chopped
1 tbs chopped garlic
1 tbs liquid smoke
1 tsp salt
1/4 tsp black pepper

Rinse beans, soak in water to cover overnight. Add ham hock and cook until beans are tender. Saute ground beet, onion, and garlic. Add liquid smoke and seasonings, add to cooked beans. Simmer until flavors are well blended, about 30 minutes. Serve over hot cooked rice.
