Hot Tamales 4

1 lb. ground meat
1 large onion, chopped fine
3 cups cornmeal
6 cups boiling water
1 can tomato paste
2 tablespoons cooking oil
1 can tomato sauce
1 tablespoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1 tablespoon chil1 powder
Cut-rite wax paper

Mix ground meat, onions, cornmeal, tomato paste and all spices together. Then mix boiling water to this. Stir this real well.

Cut wax paper into 7 inch squares. Put a heaping teaspoon of the mixture on the wax paper. Roll paper with the ingredients in it and tuck sides under. Put tamales in a large pot or Dutch oven. When complete, pour can of tomato sauce over this and about a pint or so of water. Put on a burner and simmer for one hour, then sit down and enjoy your tamales. Unroll the tamales to eat.
