Mexican Cornbread 2

2 packages jalapeno corn bread mix
3 eggs
1 cup milk
1 can cream style corn
5 green onions
1/2 cup red bell pepper (for color), chopped
1-1/2 pounds ground beef
1/2 pound or more cheese, shredded (mild, medium or sharp)
Garlic Salt to taste

Preheat oven to 350F. Saute onion and bell pepper. Add beef and brown. Season with garlic salt. Heat a 9 x 12 inch baking dish. Once heated, grease pan with bacon grease or oil. Combine cornbread mix, corn, eggs and milk together. Pour half of mixture into pan. Add cooked beef. Top with cheese and add remaining cornbread mixture. Bake for 35 to 40 minutes.
