Iowa Goulash

1-1/2 pounds ground beef
1 large onion, diced
2 garlic cloves, minced
1 tall can tomato juice, No. 5
1/2 pound small shell macaroni
1/2 pound Cheddar or Colby cheese. cubed

Cook macaroni just until tender drain and set aside. Cook down the ground beef, onion and garlic but don't brown. Combine all ingredients, except macaroni and cheese to top. Simmer until about serving time. Then add macaroni and cover with diced cheese. Bake until cheese melts or get bubbly.

Serves 8.
