Zesty Broccoli Slaw

1-1/2 pounds fresh broccoli
or
One 16 ounce package fresh broccoli, carrot and red slaw mix may be substituted for fresh broccoli
3/4 cup cider vinegar
3/4 cup vegetable oil
1/2 clove garlic, pressed
2 teaspoons dried dill weed
3/4 teaspoons salt

Remove broccoli leaves and cut off tough ends of lower stalks. Discard. Wash broccoli. Remove flowerets and reserve for other uses. Cut stems into thin strips. Place in a medium bowl. Combine vinegar and remaining ingredients. Pour over broccoli, stirring gently to coat. Use 1/2 of salad dressing recipe for 16 ounces of vegetables. Cover and chil1 at least 2 hours. Drain before serving or serve with a slotted spoon.
