Tomato Dressing

1 lb. lean beef
12 links breakfast pork sausage
1 can Rotel tomatoes
1 can tomato sauce
2 cans stewed tomatoes (chopped well)
2 large onions
1 green pepper
3 cloves garlic
1 teaspoon sugar
Thyme (to taste)
Oregano (to taste)
Black pepper (to taste)
Dash of cinnamon
1 large can of Italian bread crumbs (Set aside 1/4 cup for later use)

Preheat oven to 400F. Cut sausage into bite size pieces. Brown sausage and beef together in a skillet. Remove meat from the skillet and set aside. In the remaining drippings (in the same skillet), saute onions, green pepper and garlic. Return meat to the skillet. Add Rotel tomatoes, tomato sauce and stewed tomatoes. Add black pepper, oregano, thyme, cinnamon and sugar. Cook covered for 1/2 hour. Add Italian bread crumbs (less 1/4 cup). Pour into a casserole dish. Top with 1/4 cup of the remaining bread crumbs and dot with butter. Bake at 400F for 15 to 20 minutes.
